Brothers,
It is with sorrow, yet with Christian hope in the Resurrection, that I inform you of the passing of Deacon Pablo Salas, who was 79 years of age.
As you recall, six weeks ago, Deacon Pablo suffered a significant cardiac event.
His health steadily declined thereafter, and he has now returned to the Lord whom he served faithfully.
Deacon Pablo was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput on June 12, 2004. Over the years, he ministered generously at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, St. Dominic Parish, Holy Rosary Parish, and Presentation of Our Lady Parish. He also served as a member of the Spanish Formation Team at St. Francis School of Theology for Deacons and ministered faithfully at Samaritan House. He retired from active ministry in 2021.
For twenty-four years, he was the devoted husband of his beloved bride, Benita. Please keep Benita, his son Terry, his daughter Natasha, and their families in your prayers during this time of loss.
I would also like to extend sincere gratitude to the brother deacons who kept vigil with Benita and the family during these sacred hours; especially Deacon Louis Arambula, who was physically present with Benita and the family at the moment of Deacon Pablo’s passing. Their fraternal charity is a powerful witness to the communion we share in Holy Orders.
I was blessed to join them telephonically to pray the Prayers After Death, commending our brother to the mercy of Christ and entrusting him to the Lord he served so faithfully.
“I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
May the Lord grant him eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon him.
Requiescat in Pace.
At this time, funeral arrangements are pending. I will communicate further details as they become available.
United in Christ AMDG,
