The fund was started several years ago in order to assist deacons in need. In 2016, the name was changed to the St. Lawrence Assistance Fund for Deacons to help in the following areas:

• educational assistance to enhance their ministry

• start-up money for a new ministry

• assistance for a deacon with an emergency financial need

So far, the Fund has supported two new ministries, assisted a deacon in an educational pursuit, and assisted deacons with emergency

financial need. Donations made payable to the St. Lawrence Assistance Fund can be sent to St. Lawrence Assistance Fund for Deacons C/O the Catholic Foundation of Northern Colorado, 6160 S Syracuse Way Suite 111, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 or to the Diaconate Office, Account #40250-500408-10032, 1300 S.
