We live in a time of extraordinary agitation and lack of peace. As we deacons minister to those who need us as the image of Christ the Servant, we can fall prey to anxiety and restlessness that takes the place of the peace and serenity which ought to be ours. This retreat is an opportunity for us to examine the different reasons that frequently cause us to lose our peace of heart, and with the help of the Saints as our companions, to acquire and maintain an interior peace – even during the turbulent times of our ministry.
